On Wednesday the 14th of July at Mutitjulu, in conjunction with the NT Police, RN Employment Services hosted a Roo Tail Cook-Up as part of a strategy to engage with our community and develop relationships with Police, RN & Voyages.
NT Police and RN Employment Services at the Roo Tail Cook-Up Having fun and connecting with community at the Roo Tail Cook-Up
We had a fantastic turnout with lots of people helping collect firewood, digging out a coal pit for cooking, and others who prepared the roo tail for everyone to share. Several women prepared the damper and assisted with cooking the BBQ.

As a result, everyone was able to engage with all services. Community members felt comfortable asking questions especially concerning the steps needed to gain a drivers’ license.

The team from the Voyages Real Jobs Program was able to meet people interested in working in Yulara and discussed with them what jobs are available.
While the community was at the cook-up we were able to let everyone know about the daily cooking and painting projects.

Thank you to Chris and Peter from the Mutitjulu Police for supplying the roo tails and Katina and Areftha from the Voyages Real Jobs Program for support on the day.
