Tell us about you at work
I have been with RNES for coming up to 5 years in a few months. I have held a number of roles from Regional Manager, Operational Manager and now been appointed the CEO of the business for the last two years. RNES is CDP provider across three regions in Central Australia, supporting over 1300 Job Seekers.
What inspired you to join RNES?
It was an opportunity to set up a business from the ground up in the Barkly region. I have been working in this industry for over 18 years and be fortunate to work in mainstream, rural and remote all over Australia.
Tell us how RNES has supported your career as a woman?
Over the time I have been with RNES, I have been promoted twice and now seating in the top job of the business as the CEO. RNES board has been very supportive of myself over the years, RNES we have over 65% of staff are women, and this industry has always had more women employed than men. The management team of RNES is 5 ladies and 1 gentlemen, we support women.
How does supporting women in jobs and training impact your community or your clients?
Empowering women in communities with employment or training is just that - them – to believe they are more than just a mother or auntie, they can do more for themselves and their families , their communities.
Any advice on how we can better support women at work?
Treat women the same as men in the workplace, can do the same jobs in this industry, have the skills and experience and what to do well. As a business treat all staff the same, provide the same opportunities and salaries. Have strong policies in place and ensure all staff are across them.
Tell us about you at work
Senior Project Officer, 3 years with RN Employment Services; have transition through several roles within RN Employment Services during this time. From Outreach Consultant, Training Officer, Regional Manager to my current Role of Senior Project Officer managing the new CDP Trials across all three regions managed by RNES.
What inspired you to join RNES?
My love of helping and supporting local people in the communities which we service, to make a positive change to their lives through training or employment. RNES is a great company with huge encouragement and support for all staff.
Tell us how RNES has supported your career as a woman?
RN Employment Services, has allowed me the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. They have provided opportunity and expose to many different opportunities with great support and backing. RNES management have been flexible with my working hours and roles to allow me to be a working mother and when the times have needed to put my family first, they have always fully support me, there is a motto in RNES “Family first” and this been support for myself and other staff. How does supporting women in jobs and training impact your community or your clients?
I feel that by supporting Women in Jobs and Training, is a great way to show other Woman that ALL things are possible and together we can take on the world.
Any advice on how we can better support women at work?
Empower all woman in the workforce to have a go and encourage them to step out of the comfort zone. Believe in yourself, there will be times things go wrong, but learn from them, do not let one mistake stop you move forward. Women can do more that we let ourselves believe at times, the times have changed, and women add value to all businesses.

I have worked with Employment Services for 14 years now all over Australia from a Case manager to Senior Management. I’ve been very spoilt to see country not a lot of people get to see.
What inspired you to join RNES?
The Senior Management team at RNES inspired me to come on board with their openness to support not only myself and partner but their drive to support the communities they service.
Tell us how RNES has supported your career as a woman?
RNES team are always willing to help and go above and beyond to support me. I love that our management team is hands on and always sharing their support. They are always encouraging.
How does supporting women in jobs and training impact your community or your clients?
As the communities I work in are very remote and have very limited jobs and training it is extremely important to build relationships and encourage the women to try new things and also to share their experiences and knowledge. We are all learning from each other and supporting each other to grow every day.
Any advice on how we can better support women at work?
Just keep being us, understanding, compassionate , welcoming, and sharing……it’s what we do best !!! Teach where there is a will there is a way….LIFE IS A MYSTERY TO LIVE NOT ONE TO SOLVE…....Keep supporting women to give everything a try and just do your best…
