Mundine Means Business visits RISE-Ngurratjuta

Nyunggai Warren Mundine AO and the team from Mundine Means Business, recently visited RISE-Ngurratjuta at Mutitjulu, under the shadow of Uluru. This central Australian community is part of the broader Community Development Program in the South West Alice Region that covers three local communities: Mutitjulu, Kaltukatjara and Imanpa.

RISE-Ngurratjuta is a partnership between RISE Venture and Ngurratjuta/Pmara Ntjarra Aboriginal Corporation. Warren spoke with Michael Hobday from RISE Ventures and Cameron Miller from Ngurratjuta/Pmara about some of the community activities that are helping to instil community pride, build pathways to employment and training for local people, a create business enterprises to generate the regional economy.

The crew met with and participated in some of the local activities including viewing local crafts and trades.

The Community Development Program is forging opportunities for these communities to develop business enterprised that supports families, engages youth and builds a skilled workforce.
