On Tuesday the 28th of September RN Employment Services hosted NT Drive Safe, which facilitated the Learner’s licence course. We advertised the course a couple of weeks in advance and spread the word around the community (see poster attached).
We had a great turn out and 47 community members turned up to either query their licence requirements or register for the L’s course from 8 am onwards.
NT Drive safe were quick and informative about the registration process; explaining to all that you will need proof of age along with two additional pieces of ID.
RN Employment has copies of ID for most of our Job Seekers on file and together with the support of the NT Drive Safe services were able to identify most of the morning’s registrations. 25 identified and registered people ended up sitting the L’s course that afternoon from 1-3.30 pm and can expect to receive their physical licence by mid to late October.
This is great for upskilling people with safe driving awareness and for gaining another official ID for our job seekers.
A big thank you to Central Land Council who provided their facilities for the afternoon course session.
